PETITION WAS TURNED IN TO THE MAYOR BY WE STAND WITH TEAM FRESNO HELPING OUR HOMELESS (the refuge.) We are declaring victory just for the fact that we needed the homeless advocates and the advocacy groups to get more involved with their homeless. Including the FM-CoC. To get more involved as they claim they are down on the streets doing intakes for the homeless to get them in the system and get them the services they need all the way to being housed. Well. my admin. were on the streets for 8 weeks with a lot of volunteers with 2200 never been sheltered homeless and not once was a housing investigator (those with FM-CoC who do the intake for the peeps right on the streets)seen during that time. Sometimes our team would canvass the area handing out petition 3 times a week and where was Fresno Madera Continuum of Care? We never saw them. They were very rude to us and stated this to us on our homeless group's page. Now we re seeing a lot of activity by the advocates and their advocacy groups which is awesome. So we were able to put them under a microscope and people are watching. You cant say you are a homeless advocate and rarely go to visit your homeless. That's nuts!!! They are doing much better and that my friends is a victory. Some groups do a great job and we are very happy to see that. We are praying for Mayor Brand to make a decision regarding our petition.
