On June 1st, 2020, a handful of peaceful protestors were on Crown Valley, advocating for action against the murder of George Floyd, when a man by the name of Randy Soderstrom drove by in a 2013 white BMW X5.

While flipping a U-turn at the light, you can hear Randy clearly yell towards the peaceful protestors "white power", "f*ck black lives", "Come to my neighborhood and I will show you what white boys are about" and "f*ck n******" while holding a Trump flag out of his window. There needs to be repercussions for this hate crime! This is not acceptable, and many people do not feel safe living in the city of Laguna Niguel, knowing a man with such hatred and racism lives amongst them.

There is no reason to verbally attack anyone for living their truth and standing up for what they believe in. There is a difference between free speech and hate speech. Every word this man said was hate speech. This person must understand what they did was wrong, horrific, and will have serious consequences. 

Laguna Niguel is better than this, but we are already getting a bad reputation for this video circulating various social platforms. Something must be done. Difference of opinions matter but when the matter involves human life we need to do what is right and we need to do what is fair. I ask the city of Laguna Niguel to demand consequences for this man’s actions, for him to apologize to those young peaceful protestors, and to apologize to the city of Laguna Niguel for disgracing us with his actions.

Action needs to be taken. Mayor Laurie Davies, Governor Newsom, and the Orange County Deputy department, WE NEED REPERCUSSIONS FOR THIS HATE CRIME.
