Many Angelenos have witnessed the gross incompetence displayed by city leadership as we’ve watched our cherished homes and city burn. This is not about politics, it’s about people!

We cannot place our lives in the hands of such incompetent leaders more concerned with self image than the greater well being of the public. The basic principles of emergency management have been ignored and the fire strategy is non-existent and our tireless and dedicated firemen/women are sacrificing themselves without any strategic plan.

The citizens of Los Angeles cannot abide by this, especially as we approach Day 4 of a burning hellscape with no end in sight! Therefore, Karen Bass MUST resign NOW! We need an immediate revamping and structuring of a competent Unified Incident Command Group, request for federal and military fire response assets to contain these out of control fires from the air.

There is no reason Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Altadena, and Pasadena should be destroyed with other communities facing hour-by-hour threat of destruction. This has now reached a level of criminal negligence.  Public leadership serves at the will of the people. We, the citizens of Los Angeles, have ZERO confidence in Karen Bass.

Ms. Bass, set aside your self-interested ambition and resign if you truly respect the citizens of Los Angeles. Show that you are capable of some modicum of leadership by resigning and allowing a more competent party to lead Los Angeles out of one of the most devastating disasters in the city’s history. We are devastated and horrified by this disaster and you continue to fail. Power without conscience is a dangerous weapon! Show us you have a conscience by stepping aside.

Finally, if Gavin Newsom can’t do more than politicize this moment he must also resign. We don’t want political jostling, we want competent leadership and relief.
