Victory! Well not exactly. We still need City Council to fund 1500 shelter beds.

56,570 of you supported the campaign to see the armouries opened as emergency shelter in Toronto! The Moss Park Armoury did open but now it's closing so I close this petition with my thanks to you. Your advocacy helped to make sure that the city opened 8 emergency respite/warming centres this winter that will now stay open past April. In addition, the Mayor signed an open letter calling for 1,000 new shelter beds although our numbers show we need 1500 to be able to provide the shelter that is needed. When I say this is not a victory it's because the campaign for 1500 new shelter beds is not yet won. Watch the City Council budget process. Let your voice be known.
