As if it wasn't bad enough that last winter one of the warming centres was allowed to keep its doors locked all night for the entire winter, we learned that the City's Peter Street Referral Centre, a place of last resort, locked its doors last week turning homeless people away. Today numerous agency leaders spoke out against this harmful practice. In unison they called for 1,000 new shelter beds to be opened including one of the armouries.
