Re-evaulate the 'preferred' route for the Downtown Relief Line

The Issue

We are in support of the proposed Relief Line but we believe that City Planning has underestimated the impact on the residential neighbourhood and has failed to adequately evaluate two alternate routes.

We feel that Council needs to consider 1) the route along the existing GO corridor; or 2) a route that would include a shift from Pape to Carlaw south of Gerrard (roughly following the current 72 bus route) to Eastern. Both of these routes meet the City’s transit needs while being considerably less disruptive to hundreds of local homes.
