On the night of May 30th and morning of May 31th 2020, Mayor John Tecklenburg of Charleston was derelict in the performance of his duty to protect and defend the people of Charleston and their property. Charleston Police stood down for hours while riots ransacked the North King Street area, destroying store fronts, setting fires, attacking citizens, and destroying property.

The People of Charleston deserves better in such chaotic and uncertain times. Therefore, with no sense of confidence in your leadership, we the undersigned call for the immediate resignation of Mayor John Tecklenburg.
