Today at 1:00PM, the Indianapolis MDC will hold a public hearing on the 2nd Floor of the City-County Building (200 East Washington Street). During the hearing, the MDC is expected to make a critical decision regarding a zoning variance request from Milhaus Development for the property located at the AT&T site on the corner of College Avenue and Kessler Blvd. Milhaus is seeking a variance that will allow them to build a 50 foot tall structure (the current MU-2 zoning allows a maximum height of 35 feet). If the MDC grants the variance, it will set a precedent that opens the door to similar development projects along the College Avenue corridor. If you will, imagine monstrous apartment complexes, similar to what is now being built on the canal at College Ave and Broad Ripple Ave, up and down College Avenue... 54th St, 52nd St, 49th St, 46th St, etc. Today's vote will be historic and could spark the end of Meridian Kessler, Forrest Hills, and Broad Ripple as we know them. PLEASE... show up and be heard. See the below link for more details about the hearing. We hope to see you there...
