CollegeAvenueIndy.org wonders why the IndyChamber (and other local business advocacy groups) continue to receive such lavish press coverage of their Red Line opinions when the local business community has flatly rejected a 10% corporate income tax to subsidize the Red Line. As reported in a July 22nd IndyStar article, the 10% subsidy that local businesses have balked at will now be replaced with a new nonprofit foundation scheme whereby IndyGo will be required to fund 10% of the Red Line through donations to a nonprofit foundation it must register, build and maintain. Of course, if the foundation doesn't reach its fundraising goal, the deficit will be passed on to taxpayers. Click the below link to access an excellent Op-Ed piece in the July, 25th IndyStar.
