A May 9th, 2016 Op-Ed piece in the Indiana Policy Review by Fred McCarthy (adjunct scholar, editor, and representative to the Indiana General Assembly for 40 years) calls into question the “tradition” of Indianapolis mayors showing more interest in real estate development than the wants and needs of the great majority of taxpayers.
In the article McCarthy suggests, "What becomes clear to any newly elected incumbent is the need to remember who helped financially to get him elected."
