The MKNA Land Use Committee will meet tonight, July11 @ 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Northwood Christian Church (46th and Central) in the second floor parlor. The meeting is open to the public. During tonight's meeting, Milhaus Developent is expected to discuss its plans for the former AT&T property located at 5858 North College Ave. We anticipate that Milhaus will share a conceptual site plan and solicit feedback as they move to finalize plans for the property. The proposed structure, which is expected to be more than 50 feet tall and over 100 units, is part of a transportation oriented development ("TOD") blueprint related to the Red Line. The Milhaus project is expected to set a precedent for subsequent development along College Ave. This precedent may include increased population density, diminished street parking, more automobile traffic on adjacent streets, and a radical departure from prevailing neighborhood aesthetic standards with respect to building size and construction materials. Now is the time to show up and advocate for the aspects of our neighborhood you hold dear and wish to preserve. We hope to see you at the meeting tonight.
