We want the City of Philadelphia to make Triangle Park a reality

We want the City of Philadelphia to make Triangle Park a reality

The Issue

Triangle Park is a gateway to both Bella Vista and Queen Village, thriving neighborhoods in Philadelphia.  Several years ago, neighbors assumed responsibility for a blighted lot and turned it into a park and neighborhood oasis.  Subsequently, the owner tore out the park and put the lot up for sale to developers.  The City originally committed to buy the land for a park; however, environmental testing by the Commonwealth delayed the purchase,  and funds were allocated elsewhere. Currently, a large development is proposed and neighbors object to both the scale of the development and the loss of green open space.  It would benefit the neighborhoods of Queen Village and Bella Vista, not to mention the neighborhood school, Nebinger Elementary and the City to have Triangle Park preserved as a green and open spot in perpetuity.  We respectfully ask the City and our new Mayor to acquire the land for a park and to not approve the development as [proposed.
