1,500 statues are in the city of Philadelphia, and only 2 of them are women. There are so many amazing women who have made an impact on the city who people should know about. Like Caroline LeCount. LeCount was a black woman, feminist, and civil rights activist who fought for the right of Black Philadelphians to ride on street cars. In the 1800's, street cars were like buses or trains. She was also an educator, who fought for teachers. Like Rosa Parks, LeCount got on the segregated street cars and dared conductors to ask her to move. And because of her, street cars were integrated. LeCount should have a statue celebrating her work making the city a better place. As a student, I look up to my teachers, and Caroline LeCount's 47 years of students surely look up to her as well and would love to see a statue of her.

In 2017, Mr. Mayor, thanks to you, Octavius Catto, LeCount's fiancée, was erected in City Hall. Now we need one to Caroline LeCount, who was just as brave and just as important to the city.
