I am so sad, upset and frustrated. Knight (now Benny) is out of OCAS and with the Pittie Party's foster. But  he has a severe upper respiratory infection. He has been to the vet and he is on antibiotics. Poor Knight! They had a video of him and you can hear his labored breathing! I ask how did this sweet boy get so sick at OCAS after being neutered in their clinic? This is unacceptable! Let’s ask our county leaders how can this happen in their shelter and how many more animals at the shelter are sick?

I am devastated and can not believe people can do such thing- everyone should know Ziggy our petition poster dog. UPDATE 7/20: It disgusts me to say that in less than 24 hours Ziggie has been returned. She was returned because the adopter’s boyfriend said she was too big & he didn’t like her. Are you kidding me? UPDATE 7/19: Ziggy has been adopted!!

Ziggie #A430704 is a little sad and we can't blame her. She has been surrendered to the shelter three times over the past few years. She was originally discarded after having puppies. Another time she was surrendered because her owner was having a baby. This last time was due to her owner no longer being able to care for her. As you can see, she has been failed numerous times. We have to find Ziggie her furever home! Volunteers absolutely love Ziggie. She is as sweet as they come. She is 4 years old and heartworm negative. This brindle beauty would do best as an only pet. She just wants to be your one and only! http://www.ocnetpets.com/Adopt/AdoptableAnimals.aspx?animalid=A430704

I am heart broken - Meet Luna #A423339. Update 7/20 Luna was adopted. But her adoptive family never showed up. I guess in a way this sweet girl is better off without them. But she is looking for a furever home again!!!!!!!! Luna was adopted from OCAS two years ago but recently has been surrendered back. Her adoptive parents were completely distraught & hoped by telling her story, it would help her find a new furever home. When they adopted Luna they did so with the intent of her being a playmate for their existing dog. Sadly, Luna proved very quickly she needed to be an only dog, but they did not want to give up. Luna killed their kitty & also began becoming aggressive toward their original dog. They have spent the last two years working with trainers. Things would improve for a bit & then go bad again. A few months ago Luna attacked their other dog again & this time it caused an ER visit and a bite to the owner (who was trying to separate the dogs). After two years of trying to make it work, they had to do what is safest for their original dog and they had to give Luna up. Luna needs to be an only pet!!! According to her previous owner, “she’s a sweet girl with people and just wants to give kisses and be around you. She’s content to be next to you on the bed or on the couch or just in the same room with you. She loves her bones (the elk or deer bones work the best with her as they last a long time)and chew toys. She can swim. She’s hesitant to get in the pool but once she figures out the steps she doesn’t have any issues jumping in and swimming. She’s house-trained, but hates being in a crate”. http://www.ocnetpets.com/Adopt/AdoptableAnimals.aspx?animalid=A423339

Meet our featured local rescue -As part of my updates I will feature a local rescue that is stepping up and helping the last change dogs at OCAS.

This week we are featuring ✨⭐️Pittie Party of Central Florida ⭐️✨ Rescues like this depend on the generosity of people like you!

About the rescue * We are a foster based Pit Bull rescue and work all over Florida State. We do not have a kennel facility that houses dogs. We schedule meet and greets with potential fosters and adopters. *Our rescue is funded 100% from community donations. Which means without you we can’t do what we do. In order for us to be successful in saving these precious souls, we need people like you who can donate, share our posts, foster/adopt and get others to do the same. *Most of our work is centered on the euthanasia cases in Central Florida county shelters. *We do not work with fosters or adopters out of state. *We do not do adoption events. Our rescue utilizes social media to advertise our adoptable dogs. Upon approval, we schedule meet and greets with adoption candidates. *We fully fund our fosters with ongoing supplies and expenses. *Adoption is free to approved candidates, but we do ask our adopters to make a donation of their choice, to help our rescue.
