While we are making strides to make OCAS a better place we still have a long way to go. I am asking you to continue to contact our County leadership (contact information below) and share and report the petition. Use this link to share the petition. https://www.change.org/Rebuild_Orange_County_Animal_Services

Responce for Mayor Demings –                                                           Dear Ms. Hambuechen,                                                                     Thank you for reaching out to Mayor Demings’ Office regarding Orange County Animal Services (OCAS).  The construction of a new facility for OCAS is important to Orange County.  We are moving forward with the assessment, design and ultimate construction of a facility that will meet the growing needs of our community.

Best regards,                                                                                  Elizabeth “Liz” J. Roby                                                                        Special Assistant to Mayor Jerry L. Deming

Let’s make sure Orange County leadership stays true to this statement. Please continue to outreach to the Mayor and Commissioners about your concerns about OCAS.

Meet Coco - Meet one of our longest residents, Coco (A467278). Coco is a senior girl at 9 years old. She’s hw- & spayed. She had been at the shelter since February, she recovered in foster care after she had surgery on her eyelid but back in the shelter for quite awhile.
She is so loving and gentle with everyone and truly just wants a calm home where she can relax and be herself. She is completely housetrained and she loves being around dogs and people. She would thrive in a house with a backyard or a porch area because she loves to be outside and watch people go by. Coco is a bit fearful at first, but as you give her time, she does warm up. She has been kenneled with several other dogs at the shelter. We actually think she’d do good in a home with a calm other dog. No small kiddos due to her fearfulness. . She has been on medication for chronic dry eye. Coco needs a loving home to spend her golden years in!  http://www.orangecountyanimalservicesfl.net/Adopt/AdoptableAnimals.aspx?animalid=A467278

Meet our featured local rescue -As part of my updates I will feature a local rescue that is stepping up and helping the last change dogs at OCAS.

This week we are featuring ✨⭐️Pittie Party of Central Florida ⭐️✨ Rescues like this depend on the generosity of people like you!

About the rescue * We are a foster based Pit Bull rescue and work all over Florida State. We do not have a kennel facility that houses dogs. We schedule meet and greets with potential fosters and adopters. *Our rescue is funded 100% from community donations. Which means without you we can’t do what we do. In order for us to be successful in saving these precious souls, we need people like you who can donate, share our posts, foster/adopt and get others to do the same. *Most of our work is centered on the euthanasia cases in Central Florida county shelters. *We do not work with fosters or adopters out of state. *We do not do adoption events. Our rescue utilizes social media to advertise our adoptable dogs. Upon approval, we schedule meet and greets with adoption candidates. *We fully fund our fosters with ongoing supplies and expenses. *Adoption is free to approved candidates, but we do ask our adopters to make a donation of their choice, to help our rescue.
