Hello supporters of a Safer 35th, A quick update and call to action: Cascade Bicycle Club has developed a handy form to send an email with just a couple of clicks to the Mayor and other city leaders, voicing support for the 35th Ave NE safety improvements, and projects like them throughout the city. “Haven’t we done this already?”, I hear you ask... Yes! And the Mayor and District Council Member, Rob Johnson, are behind the project – which is why construction trucks rolled onto 35th this June. BUT opponents to the safety project (or, more explicitly, the bike lane component, which they seem to see as the reason for a loss of some of the underused parking) are bombarding the city with emails demanding they stop the project. City leaders are getting a skewed perspective of opinions. That’s why you sending another message of support to city leaders now is important.
