MAKE OMAHA PARKING FREE ON NIGHTS/WEEKENDS AGAIN

MAKE OMAHA PARKING FREE ON NIGHTS/WEEKENDS AGAIN
The Issue
What's The Problem?
Parking meter rates have gone up and the hours have been extended in downtown Omaha since Oct. 13.
Drivers must pay the meter from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Monday and Saturday (Sundays and holidays will stay free).
Old Market meters increased by 50 cents per hour, while other downtown areas will only increased by 25 cents.
Who Is Affected?
- Anyone who lives downtown that currently relies on free street parking during evenings and weekends. (Regardless of your proximity to popular bars, restaurants, and other Old Market nightlife destinations)
- Anyone who has friends or family that live downtown that currently relies on free street parking to visit them.
- Anyone who works downtown during normal business hours that will experience a rate hike for every available street spot.
- Anyone who works downtown that relies on free street parking during their shifts on evenings and weekends.
- Anyone who shops/eats/visits downtown, particularly during the evenings and weekends.
SHORT ANSWER: EVERYONE
What's The Solution?
MAKE OMAHA PARKING FREE ON NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS!
If you feel affected by Omaha's recently approved parking regulations, please sign this petition and do your part to contact the Mayor's Hotline with your feedback: 402-444-5555
