Help Us Keep Warrior Dog Rescue's Dog House in Savage So We Can Save More Dogs!
The Issue
- Warrior Dog Rescue has been operating within the city limits of Savage since July of 2020. They moved into the space at 12585 Rhode Island Avenue in Savage on July 1st, 2021.
- Within those months, the rescue has been able to save 1,240 dogs and puppies that otherwise would have died from starvation, exposure to the elements, euthanasia, or just left simply wandering, some for years without any care, fending for themselves.
- We have been operating under a kennel license from the State of Minnesota, which stated after their inspection, we are the new benchmark for rescue dog facilities.
- We were recently informed by the City of Savage we are in violation of the current zoning code and were given 60 days to vacate.
- Our priority above all else is to save dogs and place them in loving homes.
- We pride ourselves on providing the highest standards of care, love, and nurturing for every dog, whether a puppy or a senior.
We are asking for your support on this petition to help us stay in Savage and continue this important and life saving effort. -
The dogs who need saving will be the most affected if this action is not changed.
-
There is a revolving door of volunteers at The Dog House who may not continue if the location has to change.
-
Warrior Dog Rescue needs to stay in their current space. For this to happen, we need the City of Savage to grant an exemption on some of the requirements of the Conditional Use Permit.
-
If the City of Savage will not grant the exemption, Warrior Dog Rescue will need to find a new location in a different city which will be detrimental to the rescue and the amount of dogs they are able to save.
