Stop the Homeless Center from being built at 653 E. Simpson Ave.

The Issue

Mayor Jackie Biscupski has decided to build a new homeless center at 653 E. Simpson Ave., in Salt Lake City, Ut.  None of the neighbors or businesses were aware of this decision until they saw it on the News, December 13, 2016.  A homeless center would negatively impact the entire Sugarhouse area, especially the area adjacent to it. Businesses, would be impacted, as well as the home prices, and safety of the neighborhood.  Lower Sugarhouse has many older residents, and shoppers who walk and shop nearby. Also, 600 E is a bike route, and many young people use bikes or the nearby streetcar to get to school or work.  This area already supports the Odyssey House, located 3 blocks west of the neighborhood. We do NOT need a homeless center in the middle of residential housing.
