I have been a Columbus resident for most of my life. It would be a travesty to change a name because of someones actions. People would be devastated by changing the name. This has been the capital of Ohio for along time and we are proud of our city

Columbus has a variety of cultures and people who have spent their lives working for this city. Nobody has the right to change our city because of their opinion and how they are offended by the actions of one person. We the people love the diversity, the different cultures and the eclectic charm that Columbus has. 

As a city we can all come together and stand up against social injustice, racial profiling, racial hate and bigotry by being part of our community, loving our city for what it has become  and leaving the name the way it is. Take the statues down, take the monuments, but leave our city alone. As one Columbus, Ohio.
