We reached our goal of 2,021 signatures! Reaching this (somewhat arbitrary) milestone has triggered the drafting of a "scheduling request" letter to the Mayor's office. Debbie Rosenberg had the excellent idea of hand delivering a copy to City Hall and making an event of the moment. Stay tuned for that!

Danny O'Donnell's office has offered to help! Next Wednesday NY State Assembly Member Danny O'Donnell has scheduled time to brainstorm ways to help.

Metro Dreams photography/story telling project has begun! Gerry Segal volunteered to be the first subject of Liza Cooper and Joshua Silk's lens. City Council Member Mark Levine's office has suggested that Council Member Levine is willing to help.

Friends of Metro Theater are getting organized. The petition campaign team has been meeting on Monday evenings and is creating Friends of The Metro Theater (FoMT), an organization devoted to remembering, re-imagining, rebuilding and reopening the Metro Theater.

Secretary, Emily Schoenfeld has lent her communication skills and nonprofit experience to the fledgling FoMT.  Craig Sumberg, former Executive Director of historic Fox Tucson Theatre, has graciously volunteered his time and talent to serve as President. Dan Cohen kindly offered Valley Restoration LDC as an "umbrella" 501c3 for Friends of Metro Theater. FoMT has applied for a CitizensNYC Neighborhood Micro Grant and voted to join LHAT.

If you would like to officially join Friends of Metro Theater, you can send a letter and/or check to:

FoMT c/o VRLDC, PO Box 645 Cathedral Station, New York, NY 10025

Thank you for signing, sharing and caring! Together we can accomplish great things!
