As of this update we have 458 signatures, which is pretty good progress considering that I have sent a total of two Tweets today myself. (I'm traveling on business all weekend that was planned long before my neighbors helped convince me to start this petition.)
Rather than focusing on social media today, I wanted to make sure I used the time I had in front of my computer to thank each signer personally who has left a "Reason for Signing" comment on the petition's Community page. I think I'm caught up, but if I missed you, please know that I truly appreciate your taking the time to sign and for taking the extra time to let us know why signing this petition is so important to you.
Since I'm taking the time to talk about the Community page, I also wanted to let you know that you are more than welcome to use it to plan your own efforts around the petition. I realize I'm only one person. But I know for a fact that some of you who have already signed know each other better than you know me. And I want to encourage you to use the Community page as a discussion board to plan for the petition's success. My only request is that, since we don't have the ability to moderate any comments on change.org, you would please keep the conversation positive and optimistic. Part of the real power of this particular petition is that it has managed to stay above the fray for these first four days. Let's agree to keep it that way.
Although I don't have any freshly published news coverage of our petition to share today, I am happy to report that I know of three articles that are in the drafting stage, and I have been contacted today by a few other outlets interested in covering our story. If you would like to see the story covered by a news source that hasn't caught wind of us yet, then please feel free to pass a link to the petition along and also make sure you include a link to 63rdL.com.
Lastly, if you haven't watched the video Chris Hoerdemann put together over the past two days, please watch it, then share it liberally: https://youtu.be/OFLsS11jsEc
Chris volunteered his time to make the video for us, and any paid work he can get from others who view the quality of his craftmanship is a meaningful way for us to say thank you.
Please enjoy your weekend!
