Not even a full 48 hours in, and we have 330 signatures and counting—an increase of 200 from this time yesterday!
Our petition has also been featured in an article by Stephen Gossett at the *Chicagoist*: http://chicagoist.com/2017/07/12/restore_63rd_street_stretch_of_gree.php
Today, I've personally had phone conversations with three community journalists for as many separate news outlets and a videographer, all of whom have joined the cause and want to use their voice to expand our reach.
You can help, too!
1. Please keep using #63rdL on social media.
2. Send people to 63rdL.com for easy access; there are buttons all over that site to link people to this petition without searching for it.
3. Talk about the petition, even with complete strangers; four people signed this afternoon while I was on the sidewalk, and I wasn't even "petitioning" at the time. It's an easy sell.
If you're in the neighborhood tomorrow evening, please also consider attending Ald. Hairston's Ward meeting at the South Shore Cultural Center at 6 PM. The latest Jackson Park proposals are the main items of business.
Our petition is getting some great early attention. Let's keep engaging more neighbors who can sign and then engage more neighbors. Let's make it happen!
