We need your help in building momentum for a new rink proposed for Burlingame. The City of Burlingame is currently evaluating proposals for new recreational uses at the current site of the Burlingame Golf Center on Anza in Burlingame. The Mid-Peninsula Ice Rink Foundation is proposing a state-of-the-art ice facility for this location, including two rinks, locker rooms, a training center, restaurant, parking, and youth homework center. The facility would be on public land, thus avoiding most of the long-term challenges that we are currently facing at Bridgepointe. Here's how you can help: 1) Email the Burlingame City Council at council@burlingame.org, urging them to support the ice rink proposal. We especially need emails from Burlingame residents, who should include their home address. Non-residents can mention that they are excited to shop in Burlingame while their kids are skating. 2) Leave a comment at the bottom of the San Mateo Daily Journal article (attached). 3) Please ask your Burlingame friends to sign our petition: http://bit.ly/1SjkwIL We can then keep them in the loop on future meetings.
