A friend just got back home from a meeting that was about animals and animal control in Greene County TN. This is what she reported from the meeting:  "What a fiasco! Mayor Crum had already determined what HE thought the purpose of that meeting was all about.... he actually chewed out the audience that was there, a packed room ... because he "thought" people were there to down grade the AC officer.... when if fact that was NOT the issue.... he already had his mind made up ... he had is own agenda ..... he did NOT address the actual issue. that was a woman who had been at AC. She had handled these particular cats, took pics of them to network out and try to get them adopted. They had a few days before their time was up... well the AC officer put them down while there were still empty cages available, and the cats still had time ...... this woman asked that question of WHY this happened.... 3 times.... and the mayor and commissioners present just blew it off.... they NEVER did answer her question..... and whoever that commissioner was at the head of the table, he was hateful and RUDE ..... said "we don't want to waste the other Commissioners time with this anymore " ...  and THAT is a quote..... I have just about had enough of this who dunk government here..... they are SO thoughtless and heartless .... and they cannot even fathom that animals are living breathing creatures... they practically laughed at a woman that wants to try to get cats registered to try to help with spay/neuter costs when they can't afford it .... they blew her off and laughed at her too !! ... I cannot believe these people.  They are just mean."
