The City of Jacksonville Beach has agreed to get rid of the illegal lights in the parking lots by our shoreline. They have already ordered the legal Sea Turtle friendly lights. They are working on a new up to date Lighting Ordinance now. The city has promised to complete this before May 1st which is the start of our Sea Turtle season. That will only leave the illegal lights that are across the street on the west side of 1st Street that only need to be shielded. When that happens COJB will be in a 100% FWC compliance. It's too early to call it a total victory but it is looking very promising for sure. Thank you to everyone who helped us just by signing our petition.
