Under the guise of public safety, the leaders of the city of Buffalo have placed speed cameras at various schools. This was done with very little discussion or input from the residents. They've created a "solution" to a problem that did not exist.

Motorists are being ticketed while schools are not in session and the students are learning from home. Hard working residents, already suffering economic hardship due to the Covid pandemic, are being hit with exorbitant fines under the false pretense of child safety. We, the undersigned, believe this is nothing more than a ploy by city officials to raise revenue off the backs of it's residents. Despite what they say, we believe this is a classic money grab by the city of Buffalo. 

Mayor Byron Brown and the Buffalo Common Council need to be reminded that they work for the taxpayers and not the other way around. The great majority of residents see the speed cameras for what they are-a scam. We are calling for the cameras to be immediately removed until the residents are given a chance to express their opinions as to their necessity. The residents' voices will be heard or we will express our dissatisfaction at election time.
