Changes to Medford's Committee's and Budget Cuts

The Issue

Many of the economic, racial, and health concerns sweeping through America and Massachusetts have created the population of Medford Massachusetts to become increasingly more angered towards the Medford City Council, and local government for how they handle the city and the needs of its people.

Many believe the Medford City Council DOES NOT reflect the diverse population that has been  continuing to grow and change since its beginnings.

As of 2020, the Medford City Council has seven council-people attempting to run the local city municipal government.

Yet, we have seen how citizens are angered that our city council people do not represent the minorities, cultures, genders, ages, races, etc amongst the city.

As well as irritation towards the lack of care towards Medford citizens since four councilmen had refused to join last Tuesday's City Council meeting via Zoom. They have also decided to lay off 111 public educators, while taking out loans to create a brand new police department that would cost the city approximately $25 million.

IT IS TIME for the City of Medford to FINALLY listen to their people and have voices be heard. No longer can we have the family's who have been in power within the city for over 20+ years.

We demand that a higher percentage goes towards public education and the countless problems citizens have had with the state of Medford Public High school and the city's lack of funding and care for public education. We also demand a more diverse council group for the schools and municipal government.
