Low cost spay/neuter clinic in Paducah

Low cost spay/neuter clinic in Paducah
The Issue
This can be the start of someone instilling a change in both their life and their heart; this can be the beginning of a compassionate, caring lifestyle.
Don’t you want that? We all do.
We all want to better ourselves, and give of ourselves what we can in order to shape a brighter future.
This is your chance...
There is something that needs your help.
There is something that doesn’t have a voice, and wants you to speak up.
There are animals in need: in bad situations, starving, being abused and neglected, being threatened, or living miserable lives and dying miserable deaths.
It’s the cat population in Paducah, KY. They’re here because of humans, humans who didn’t care and didn’t face any consequences.
They’re here because people didn’t spay/neuter, and because people dumped or abandoned them.
Those people live on happily, ignorant to the damage they’ve done because they just don’t care.
There are many in Paducah who are going crazy with the amount of fosters they have, and the amount of animals they still can not save because more people won’t step up.
You may not believe me when I say this (maybe because you aren’t aware, or you just don’t care), but there are hundreds upon hundreds of cats and kittens who are living out in the elements, where they are largely unwanted, abused, starved, and killed by either careless humans, or predatory animals like coyotes.
How many kittens have I seen, eyes sealed shut with infection, rasping for breath as they blindly stumble around, waiting to finally die and be relieved of the pain they’re in?
How many cats have I seen that are so diseased and wounded, that the only option is to put them to sleep (and so many times if someone else had cared before I found the cat, it could have had a chance at life).
It all boils down to spay/neuter, fostering, and the kindness of others.
We need a spay/neuter clinic in Paducah for low income households.
The MissingBella Program does a great job, but some can still not afford that, and I know that the resources of just a few people running that program and trying to help a whole community are most likely always in jeopardy.
The “Humane” Society was fixing a few ferals, but it hasn’t had the positive impact it could have on the community.
What we need is either a low cost clinic ($15-$20 per cat), or local vets banding together (taking shifts) for a couple months in the year and graciously volunteering their time to get this cat population under control, or we need the local shelter to use their resources to actually help the community, like they’re supposed to.
Surely, out of all the funding that goes into things we DON’T need, that something could be done to spay/neuter the cat population, and help the citizens of Paducah who want to get their animals fixed....something that we DO need.
I guess most people will call me crazy, for caring about animals so much. But if you’d seen what I’ve seen (what every person invested in trying to save these cats has seen), then you wouldn’t dare.
If more people cared, if more people did more than just scrolling past, maybe things would change.
Maybe laws would get passed, outlining and enforcing repurcussions for animal abuse, abandonment, and neglect.
Likes and shares are all well and good, but I can tell you right now that I know of 20+ cats and kittens that will either live miserably outside in this heat, or die soon...
...and if just 20 people took one in for a short period of time, if just 20 people opened their hearts to the possibility of caring for something that will unconditionally love and adore them, maybe their heart, much like the Grinch’s, would grow three sizes.
I know there are some that want to care, that want to be better people. This is their chance.
So if you made it to the bottom of this, thank you for reading.
If you think I’m crazy, that’s fine.
If you want to try your hand at taking in a soul in need of your help and fostering, let me know.
If you want to sign this petition...thank you.
If you want to scroll past this, or ignore it, I hope that someday you become a better person.
We’re going to have to live in the future, you know.
We’re going to have to face those consequences.
We can either help make the world better, or we can sit back, comfortable in our complacency, and let it go to waste.
