On March 6, the City’s Executive Policy Committee tabled their draft budget with a proposed elimination of the UPASS program.

This action - taking away UMSU’s most used service - after it passed with 78% support in UMSU’s highest turnout vote of all time is a slap in the face to students across the province.

It also shows a complete disregard of climate action for the city to eliminate a program that took 7000 drivers off the road and increased ridership by 25% to the UofM. We would be the only major city in Canada not offering a UPASS.

But this fight is not over. This city cannot take away your voice. I urge you strongly to speak at the public budget hearing on March 19th at 9am. Please register at the following link:
