The Colony ridge nursing home in Nags Head, NC has a colony of cats  living outside their establishment. The cats are all spayed/neutered and vaccinated. The volunteers there have been feeding the cats for 6+YEARS! And Peak Resources, who recently contracted to manage this property, has put a feeding ban all on the cats that live there! They even got the police involved, and threatened legal action if anyone is caught feeding the cats! This is inhumane, cruel and down right barbaric! How anyone could do this to innocent animals is beyond me! The cats there have been getting food from the volunteers & other people around the community for 6+YEARS! THEY WILL SURELY STARVE TO DEATH! And I'm sure this is what they want. I was also told that they were going to trap & kill the cats! This is unacceptable! These poor cats do not deserve such treatment, NO animal does! Isn't it enough that the cats were abandoned, left to fend for themselves. Now Peak Resources want to starve them to death! Mahatma Gandhi once said "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Unfortunately, our nation isn't looking so good. Humanity seems to be dwindling. We need to speak up for the voiceless. We need to do our part as humans, and do what is morally right, which is helping those who can't help themselves! I, and my petitioners, ask you Mayor Bob Edwards and Peak Resources to lift the feeding ban on the cats at Colony Ridge Nursing home! Please do the RIGHT thing and lift this ban.
