Please Help Save our Trees.   Trees Make a Difference!

Wilmington and New Hanover County is widely known for the beautiful trees, which greatly contribute to making our homes healthy and safe. We have lost many trees in recent years due to hurricanes and development.  We want to limit our losses in the future.   

Planting new trees is not enough, early and continued maintenance is necessary too – without proper care they cannot survive.  After planting new trees, the city’s grounds workers, landowners, neighbors and tree companies need to have access to information on the proper methods to care for trees.

By getting signatures, we will urge the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County to address the need for the preservation and proper maintenance of the city’s & county’s old trees, as well as the need for planting and maintaining new trees to replenish those we have lost.  

We want to keep our Southern city beautiful, healthy and safe. Please help us save and maintain our trees. They make a difference! Planting new trees is not enough - maintenance is necessary, too. Landowners and all those who care for trees need proper training.
