The lights serve to recognize the horrific loss of life, the injuries, and those who fought to protect the United States, locally and abroad. Using COVID-19 as an excuse is an awful reason to skip the recognition of this event. New York City, and the country desperately need the unity that we had after the attacks of 9/11. So turn on the damn lights!
