New York City streets have numerous blocks with No Parking signs in select areas of regular Alternate Side Parking. They serve no purpose in the flow of traffic. The city needs to remove the No Parking signs on those blocks to compensate for the loss of Alternate Side Parking spaces, due to the Open Restaurants and Open Streets program. Mayor DiBlasio has now mandated year-round use of street parking areas for restaurants. I'm glad to see restaurants get a much needed economic boost, but parking has become unmanageable for those of us who regularly park on the street. We have lost over 90% of our parking spaces with the Open Restaurants and Open Streets program and prior to that, Citi Bikes. We need those No Parking areas to be Alternate Side Parking spaces.
