Approved and Paid Days Off for Bereaved Parents & Caretakers

Approved and Paid Days Off for Bereaved Parents & Caretakers
The Issue
US Law or Observance - Most employers provide the benefit as a form of unpaid leave, typically for up to five working days.
Germany Law or Observance for Grief (Bereavement) - Entitlement. You may take Bereavement Leave for up to four (4) weeks at 100% of your base salary, for a total of twenty (20) working days in the event of death of a loved one, which is determined by employee's own personal and familial relationships.
As we have seen death amongst us lately in a magnitude of numbers, most loved ones are left to determine if they can grieve properly all while trying to make sure that their jobs are secure so that they can maintain life to some sense of normalcy after the death of a loved one.
Many Mothers need much more than 5 working days to even respond to the shock of the death of a child of theirs (No matter the age) which is life changing and difficult to understand.
