Dear supporters

We've had a busy month since our last update - behind the scenes, we have been meeting with Canada Bay Council, including the Mayor, three of the Councillors, and the Council's Head of Assets and Planning.

We were so encouraged when they promised to have their parks planner review the space and our proposal! This is a massive win for our cause, and we couldn't have done it without the support of each and every one of you. Your strength in numbers helped us to form a compelling enough case that Council could not ignore.

Council are now in the middle of their formal assessment of Wire Mill Park (which is also known as Figtree Bay Reserve). As part of this process, Council needs to officially go through a consultation process and seek the feedback of local residents and residents across the LGA. Council have today opened up consultation, and so again we ask you to please have your say through one of their official channels!

To view the proposed change and provide your feedback online, please visit Council's online consultation platform directly:h https//collaborate.canadabay.nsw.gov.au/wiremillpark

Council officers will also be on-site in the park on Wednesday 21 April 2021 from 5pm to 630pm for anyone who would like to view the proposal and have their say in person.

We thank you once again for your efforts in getting our idea this far - community really is everything, and we're so lucky to have such an awesome one!

Woofs and kisses,

The Figtree Bay Reserve Residents Action Group
