Its come to my attention that the Brigantine City skate park has been condemned and is in jeopardy of closing for good to make room for something else. I can't sit idle and let this happen without putting up a fight. I cant even begin to explain what this park has done for me over the last two decades. I can vividly remember when the skatepark first opened up and how my brothers and I felt during this time. We were ecstatic, overfilled with joy and ready to skate. Over the years this place has taught me a lot about life, patience, determination, motivation, joy, happiness, victory, defeat and humility. We all know how communities can benefit from having a place for children and adults alike to enjoy. Its why we have baseball fields, basketball courts, football fields, soccer fields, playgrounds, hockey courts, dog parks, libraries and an amazing state of the art community center and all the other amenities that make Brigantine a great place to live and vacation. We have a whole community of people that love to utilize this place to skateboard, rollerblade, scooter and ride bikes. I like many others have formed great relationships at this park and friends that I'll have for life because of our passion for skateboarding. We need to keep this skate park alive so future generations can benefit the same way I have throughout the years. Please sign this petition and join the fight to keep the stoke alive and strong within the brigantine skating community.  - Written by Jack Fouts and Shane Jost
