Maximize Parking Availability in Trestle Place Cul-de-Sac

The Issue

Over the past few months, we, the residents of Kettle Creek in Langford, BC, have experienced a drastic decrease in available parking due to the city adding no parking signs throughout the neighborhood (some for obvious safety reason, others for reasons unclear). This issue has been exacerbated by the fact that many residents have vehicles too large for their garages and/or more than two vehicles, leading to the necessity for many to park regularly in the already overcrowded cul-de-sac at the end of Trestle Place. As this area fills quite fast each day, many are left with no other option but to park at the small parking area by the community park on Kettle Creek Crescent, which is a considerable distance for some.

We propose a rework of the cul de sac at the end of Trestle Place to maximize available parking.

This would ideally include angle parking along the north-eastern side and possibly creating parking stalls in the middle of the cul de sac as has been done elsewhere in residential areas of Langford (for example Obsidian Place and the surrounding areas).

With our neighhood consisting of families, many with recreational vehicles and the like, there is an average of at least two, and in many cases three vehicles per family. The housing development has not been designed to support this and as such we are depending on the City of Langford to help us optimize our shared spaces effectively.

By signing this petition, you are supporting an initiative that will benefit all residents by improving accessibility and convenience while maintaining safety standards within our neighborhood. Please sign this petition if you believe that everyone should have fair access to convenient parking near their homes.
