Earlier this year when Tom DeLonge decided he wanted to take his band, Angels & Airwaves, on tour for the first time in 7 years, there was a gapping hole in the line up left by the irreplaceable Matt Wachter. It was at that time that Tom called up long time friend, Matt Rubano, formerly of Taking Back Sunday, but also of other bands Glassjaw and The all-American Rejects. I think we can all agree that not only is Matt insanely talented, but those of us lucky enough to have made it to a Meet & Greet on this tour, can also say that he’s a good fit personality-wise. Most importantly he seems to be enjoying his time with the band, and I think this all should result in a permanent place for him here in AVA.
