Frequently forgotten, invisible and underpaid, - these vital frontline workers deserve our respect, support and recognition for the complex and vitally important work they do.

Their invaluable work can encompass so many things. From washing bottoms, providing company, preparing meals, bathing, feeding, sharing a laugh and a joke or holding someones hand at the end of their life.

They provide care and support to some of the most vulnerable members of our communities with selflessness  and resilience, often within impossibly tight time constraints. They deal with emergencies, liaise with families and a host of other professionals. The list of tasks, skills and personal qualities is endless. They need our recognition and support, including better pay, protection and conditions of work. 

This could be achieved, in part, by a Royal Charter or Royal College of Care Workers.
