John Coates should resign

John Coates should resign
The issue
To Matt Carroll (CEO of the Australian Olympic Committee)
We request that John Coates be asked to resign from his role as President of the AOC
“You are going to the opening ceremony,” Mr Coates told Ms Palaszczuk on Wednesday night.
“There will be an opening and a closing ceremony in 2032 and all of you, everyone there, has got to understand the traditional parts of that, what’s involved in an opening ceremony.
“None of you are staying home and going to be sitting in your room.”
His treatment of the Hon Anastasia Paluszczuk in Japan was publicly humiliating, demonstrated misogyny and little respect for her position, and was demonstrative of patronising bullying which is no longer acceptable in the workplace. It also showed scant regard for Paluszczuk’s rightful concerns about propagating a pandemic.
Please set an example of appropriate behaviour towards female colleagues and ask John Coates to move aside. At the very least, a public apology and appropriate training should be necessary.
We look forward to your action.
