As a result of COVID, many internal Massey University students have been paying for in-person/onsite learning but have been receiving online classes that don't have the same experience or standards.  From constant technical issues to no change in scenery, every student has their different opinion as to why they are struggling to study online or feeling that they are not getting what they are paying for. With many degrees, a large part of them is to be able use Massey's onsite resources and being able to connect and network with your classmates before you start to work with them. Both of which aren't available to students due to the primarily online classes.

We understand that Massey can't control COVID and are trying to keep us safe by following restrictions. However, we would appreciate it if some form of compensation was given through our fees. As COVID hasn't just hit the education sector, it's affected every corner of our lives. Jobs, student allowances, and a rising economy, are only some of the many pressures have resulted in more students struggling to pay for their education. Or eventually pulling out of their degrees because they don't believe they're getting the education they're paying for.
