Just taking a minute to clarify some things. 

 I am asking our professional associations to show more transparency and hopefully start working together more closely to help move the profession forward...what does moving the profession forward mean to me? https://www.massagechangeslives.com/moving-the-massage-profession-forward/

• Having educational standards for classrooms. We have the Entry Level Analysis Project that needs to be updated an implemented so massage schools are keeping up to date with research and the latest findings. This is called the Professional Framework. Every profession has them.
• More consistent licensing laws and more specific language in laws to separate the massage profession from sex work and educate law enforcement on the laws.
• Research and study CE in the massage profession and figure out what is needed to Continue Education beyond massage school. (It is a mess! https://www.massagepracticebuilder.com/the-continuing-ce-conundrum-in-the-massage-profession/ )
• License Portability. The Interstate Massage Compact was introduced which would allow MT's to work in other states that join the compact. It is a very complex piece of legislation that needs to be explained properly and the stakeholders surveyed to ask them what they want. 
•  Many do not know what our professional associations do or how/why they were formed. This imporant piece of history needs to be filled in and taught so MT's can make more informed decisions about their profession. https://www.massageschoolnotes.com/history-of-massage-therapy/
• Some of our associations are working on the same things, duplicating efforts of others which is not an effective use of time.
• I am not doing this to start a movement or organize anything. I have been volunteering with AMTA-WA and AFMTE and also have been working on this behind the scence for over 25 years through my many blog/website posts. I am hoping that the profession can work together and create a plan about what org will do what and why and be more transparent in their work. This is nothing new! This has been talked about since the beginning of my career which started over 35 years ago.
