Petition updateMassage Envy needs to support individuals sexually assaulted at their storesMassage Envy responds: with a statement committing to nothing and a threat of legal action

Since I went public with my story one week ago, more than 12,000 individuals have signed on to the campaign to force Massage Envy to adopt better policies to protect its clients and to support the individuals who are assaulted at their stores. What has Massage Envy done in response? Released a statement. That’s it. (You can read it here: http://bit.ly/2z7jqdG). Sadly, they have a history of issuing statements, but in the two years since my assault, they have announced no policy changes in how they protect clients or support victims, even as the reports of sexual assaults at their stores continue to accumulate. The Massage Envy response also states they have reached out to me; what it fails to mention is that they reached out *and threatened me with legal action for making my story public*. We have to send a message to corporations that the era of silencing victims and issuing hollow statements of support, yet failing to do anything is over. Corporations need to be held accountable. Will you take a minute and share the petition to help make that change happen? Click here to tweet the petition: http://bit.ly/2zXNcAG Click here to share it on Facebook: http://bit.ly/2ym1lva Together we can change the world for the better. Today, we take on Massage Envy, to send a message to corporations that they must take sexual harassment and assault seriously. Thank you for your support, Danielle P.S. The number of other women who have reached out to me with their own stories of assault has been heartbreaking.
