Allow my grandpa to be buried in a veteran cemetery as he served but just missed cut-off

The Issue

My grandpa served in the military and he’s a wonderful man who has endured a quite challenging life. Often withholding many emotions, after his friend passed away he burst out uncontrollably crying at his funeral knowing that he will not be able to be buried and honored in the veterans cemetery alongside his fellow soldiers. It means the world to him, and I don’t believe any number of days for a procedure should stop a veteran who served nearly enough to be punished for missing the cutoff date of time served to be honored.

I believe he is a soldier of a person, more than just his actual service to the country, he has served so many throughout a lifetime. He has given compassion and joy to all he encounters, his signature chuckle and love that sometimes we underestimate the power of, as he sometimes blends into the background of social encounters. He asks for so little and has given so much.

Please help me grant him this wish for Christmas so he can have peace in his heart knowing that he will rest among his fellow soldiers when he passes on.
