I would like to petiton the state of Massachusetts to allow licensed driving schools to  partner with the Massachusetts DOT/RMV to assist with conducting road test's for individuals who have completed a full class D driver education course.

Individuals would have the option to choose to take a road test with the a licensed driving school or at a RMV location with a RTE (road test examiner)

This would help with the immense back log the RMV is currently  facing with road testing and provide alternative options to our community.

It has the potential to help the state economically by;

* Reducing the need to hire more RMV staff

* Increasing the amount of road testing  and licensing transactions provided to our community.

It would also solve the issue the RMV had before the pandemic, which was a back log of road testing due to RTE (road test examiner)  staff shortage.

FACTS:

*A majority of RTE's that currently work for the RMV were former driving school instructors. 

* Currently the state of Massachusetts has a class M (motorcycle) course that allows individuals who complete the course to take a road test with the school.

* In the state of Massachusetts our CDL (commercial licenses) course has the ability to conduct a CDL road test after the course has been completed with the school.
