Why this petition matters

Started by meagan angers

I am making this petition to bring attention to the construction that is going to take place in the Malden woods that run along the side of 190 by the town line of West Boylston. Here, Jonathan Thomas of Whippoor LLC wants to build subdivisions which includes 30 lots and the construction of 15 single-family semi-detached dwellings (total of 30 dwelling units). I am confident that a majority of the people who live in this neighborhood are unaware of this construction plan and would be unhappy to find out that they plan on taking away privacy in the neighborhood. I especially would like to point out the fact that they would be building on wetlands forcing more animals out of their homes and onto the street and that also creates dangers for house pets. It won't be safe to walk our pets at night and we will have an increase in road kill that the city already does a bad job of cleaning up. The woods also filter out the noise from 190. Over all, this area is not equipped for more traffic. The side streets in this area are covered with potholes and it is already hard enough to pull out onto West Boylston St from Idalla Rd without getting hit by on coming traffic. Not only that but there are many other places in Worcester that can be developed that are already vacant, cleared land. I believe I can speak on the behalf of a majority of the residents in the neighborhood by saying this construction is not going to benefit our neighborhood in any way. So, please do your part and sign this petition to save our Malden woods and keep our neighborhood from anything that won't benefit us.
