Mass molestation in bangalore - A night of shame
The Issue
This is about horror incident that happened on Bengaluru's famous MG Road on New Year's Eve.
Thousands of people gathered on two central streets in Bangalore on Saturday night to celebrate the new year. Local newspaper reports and witnesses said the crowd became unruly and began to subject women to sexual assault and harassment.
Here is the traumatized experience of witness
- "She was bleeding and had scratches. It was very scary," she said, describing how the attackers grabbed women's hair and pulled at their clothes."
This are very horrifying experiences and biggest shame to our proud nation of India.
Police personnel took role of mute spectator and Home Minister of Karnataka said " It happens, it's part of new culture of celebration " and "western culture" is to blame and that "these things do happen"
Such statements shows government apathy and prejudices towards victims of mass molestation and towards women in general.
Sign my petition and I ask Governor of Karnataka Shri. Vajubhai Vala and Chief Minister Shri. Siddaramaiah to take strictest action against perpetrators of molestation and responsible Police personnel and summon Home Minister G.Parameshwara about his absurd remarks.
I ask all of you to sign my petition and contribute to make justice.
