The Thomas J Shanahan library hours of operation limit Marymount Manhattan College students' opportunity for success and academic achievement . This petition serves to better accommodate the diverse needs of all MMC students. 

Specifically, we ask for the Thomas J Shanahan Library hours be extended to:

Monday- Thursday: 7:00am-11pm 

Friday: 7:00am-9pm

Weekends: 10am-6pm

MMC students love the Thomas J Shanahan Library. It provides access to a wide variety of journals, online databases and periodicals. It also fosters a vibrant, innovative learning environment. 

The mission of MMC is to educate a socially and economically diverse student body by fostering intellectual achievement. Yet the current library hours do not reflect this. 

The current hours limit MMC students opportunities for academic achievement. Limited access to a learning conducive study environment is detrimental to acadameic success. 

The current extension of library hours during the week of and the week before final exams does not meet the demands and needs of students whom want to prepare prior to finals. 

Additionally, many students at MMC work full time and part time jobs. The current library hours put these students at a disadvantage. 

Let's increase the library's accessibility and promote academic achievement!
