Keep a murderer of a wife, mother, sister, and aunt in prision

The Issue

I am writing this petition to show the member of Maryland Department of Corrections, Board of Parole that Cory Francis Yantz (Inmate #521085) should NOT be granted parole.  On August 21, 2008, Cory arrived home by way of a coworker.  He then parked his truck in the rear of the apartment, which he never did and went inside his home where he brutally murdered my sister, Tonya Jean Yantz, by stabbing her multiple times in the neck and chest area.  Instead of calling 911, he left her there to die while he hid his bloody clothes in the truck and took a shower.  After the shower and knowing my sister was deceased, he then decided to call 911, at 3:29 p.m. almost an estimated 20 minutes after the stabbing.  He stated that someone came into the apartment while he was showering and stabbed his wife to death.  He wanted to know if he should touch the knife that was protruding from his wife's body.  Emergency personnel told him not to, but he informed them that he already had.  When emergency personnel arrived on the scene they found Cory straddling her body and police ordered him to step away, which he did immediately.  As indicated on the 911 call the knife was protruding from her body, but EMT found a large bloody kitchen knife next to her body.  At the time Cory claimed that he was innocent.  He was arrested later in the day and charged with first and second degree murder.  My family refused to put my nephew, 12 at the time, on the witness stand, so Cory was able to take a plea bargain of second degree murder.  For months he claimed his innocence in jail.  One day he finally admitted he murdered her and pleaded guilty to second degree murder.

What was his reason for murder:  HE DID NOT WANT A SECOND DIVORCE!!!

He is asking to walk free and be able to be with his family again, enjoy life, be a normal happy person.  On the other hand, my family will never have a family dinner again, I don't get to call her up when I am having a bad day, her kids don't get to call her and say, "Hey mom, I love you," no they visit her graveside to tell her.  My mom and dad don't get the sentimental gifts from her anymore.  Everything has changed.  Life just isn't the same.

Please help try to get some justice for our family.  I am asking for support from everyone to please try to keep him in prison for as long as possible.  Please help and God bless.

Sincerely,
